As we said from the start, we wanted to give something back to the most deserving participants.
It’s not an award, but it would be unfair not to appreciate the effort of those designers who did such good work for a worthy cause. It’s our way to tell them to keep up the good work and to drive their colleagues to follow their example.

We’re happy to say these won’t be just throwaway gifts, but will make this project leave a mark as these all-worthy designs will be included in the Lahti poster museum and – suprise, surprise – even in Les Arts Deco museum permanent collection.

The gallery features all of the 100 shortlisted posters, as selected by this year’s jury, and they are downloadable in high resolution with just a click. Please help us by spreading the message (and the images).

We put together a press kit for you to download and spread around, containing all the key information about the contest, the events and a sneak preview of 5 selected posters.

Two marquee exhibitions will be held in Paris at Les Arts Décoratifs and in Milan at La Triennale museum, while other exhibitions will be held in: Ankara Beirut, Belgrade, Brussels, Buenos Aires, Cheonan, Derry, La Paz, Lima, Los Angeles, Marrakesh, Montreal, Seville, Stockholm, Vienna and many others. Finally, all the posters will be collected and published in a 96 page catalogue, by the comments of our jurors and of some important personalities in the field of human rights: Roberto Saviano, journalist and author of “Gomorra”; Jean-François Julliard, Secretary General of Reporters Sans Frontières; Yoani Sanchez, cuban blogger; Zara Tofigh, representative for Network Iran Human Rights in Italy; Françoise Schein, founder of Inscrire and many others.

The voting already started. We had to put up a preselection jury to deal with the number of entries – more details about it will be added soon to the Jury page.
The voting will end with a live session in Paris around the 25th, where the official jury will gather for a day.

The best posters selection will be announced on the 10th of December, but more updates will follow about the exhibitions and other initiatives we’ll be able to organise for that day. Keep checking this page please!

The 100 best posters to be selected by our International Jury will be part of a number of exhibitions in venues ranging from universities to art galleries and cultural centers. We are confident that these will be the ideal settings for a series of purposeful meetings and debates to discuss the state of Human Rights and Freedom of Expression in today’s world.

Freedom of expression is a right that the Western world takes for granted. But in many countries, such as Iran, innocent people are persecuted and imprisoned daily due to their pleas for democracy and freedom of the press or for exposing human rights abuses.

“For 30 years, Iran has been spoken of as if unveiling women would turn the country into a democracy. But the biggest problem has always been, and still is, the almost complete absence of freedom of expression,” says Marjane Satrapi. “But as soon as we can think and say what we want, we will inevitably be able to dress as we want, as well as everything else.”

The organisers of Poster4Tomorrow hope to spark a movement that will inspire people worldwide to stand together against injustice and intolerance. One poster is a start. Hundreds, thousands will become a global movement for a better tomorrow.

In this respect, we’re proud to be endorsed by Reporters sans Frontieres, the non-profit organisation that fights for freedom of press across the world, and supported by a jury to select the posters that includes: Marjane Satrapi, the author and filmmaker of Persepolis; prominent Iranian graphic designers Reza Abedini and Saed Meshki; internationally renowned graphic designers Alain Le Quernec, Pierre Bernard and Woody Pirtle; and Tommaso Minnetti and Pasquale Volpe, founders of the world’s largest social communication project Good50×70.

Poster4Tomorrow is online and open for entries from September 3. Entries will be accepted until November 15, and winners will be announced in December.

The best 100 posters will be published in a book and exhibited in Paris. Five of them will be placed in the permanent collection of the Lahti Poster Museum in Finland. Select winners will also receive prizes including workshops at the école intuit/lab and subscriptions to graphic design magazine étapes.
